Why study Short Courses?
Short courses are ideal for those people wishing to study for their own self interest and perhaps to practise on family and friends.
Short courses also offer the opportunity to broaden skills thereby creating additional career opportunities.

Reflexology
Covers the basic techniques used to stimulate the reflex areas of the foot. Specific massage sequences will be covered which provide benefit to the neck, shoulder, interscapular region, stomach, chest, back, arms and legs.
Oriental Massage
Provides an overview of Chinese medicine, the concept of Yin and Yang and explores the main Acupuncture meridians of the body. Common Acupressure points are covered and specific treatments are applied to the neck, shoulder, back, arm, pelvis and lower limb.
Clinical Aromatherapy
You will learn the uses and applications of essential oils, mixing & blending of oils, and their roles in a massage practice. Recipes designed for use in the treatment of various physical and emotional conditions are also provided, e.g. lower back pain, muscular cramps, neck pain, headaches, pregnancy, depression, etc.
Human Biology
An informative study of all the body systems with reference to structure and function. You will gain an understanding of the levels of organisation and structure of the human body and how the systems function and interrelate.
Safe Practices
Occupational Health & Safety requirements according to legislation and codes of practice are examined. You will learn about the importance of infection control guidelines, hazard identification procedures and strategies for prevention of manual handling injuries. To satisfactorily complete this subject, you must provide evidence of a current Advanced First Aid qualification.
